            Robert Behar, formerly Baruch Behar, was born in Edirne on February 20, 1914 to Rafael and Rose Behar, both Ottoman subjects. He married a woman named Eliane, with whom he shared two children, also naturalized with him: Jane Elizabeth Judith (born Mary 10, 1942) and Pierre Robert Michel (born June 18, 1947). The family lived at 79 Hailsham Avenue, Saltdean Mount, Brighton, Sussex. At the time of his naturalization in October 1955, he was of French nationality. He was naturalized in 1955.
