Isac Moise Behar (a.k.a. Moise Behar Isac)

Isaac Moise Behar was an Oriental carpet importer operating at 58 St. Mary Axe, E.C., London, in partnership with his brother Elia Behar and at least one other brother. In 1889, he appeared at a hearing with dozens of other creditors in the draper’s business to attempt to collect monies owed by Walter Watson, who had encountered financial difficulties partly related to the medical and funeral expenses of two of his daughters and care for a third daughter, who was lying ill with typhoid.[1] He is listed as an (Oriental) carpet importer in London trade directories for the years 1891 and 1896.[2] In about 1899, Isaac Moise Behar’s brother Elia Behar launched his own business under the name of Behar, Son & Company at 1 Bevis Marks, London.[3] Nothing further is known about him.
