David Behar was born in Glasgow in 1905 and was married to Eileen M., a housewife born in London in 1907. Behar was a company director and likely the head of the Scottish branch of the Cardinal & Harford Company. His biographical details are culled from a ship manifest, dating to 1929 and recording a trip the couple made from Cherbourg to the New York. In this manifest, David identified his “race or people” as “Scotch,” while his wife Eileen identified as “English.”[1]
