Eileen Behar, a housewife, was born in London in 1907 and was married to Glasgow native David Behar, who was born in 1905 and served as company director. The latter was likely the head of the Scottish branch of the Cardinal & Harford Company. Her biographical details are culled from a ship manifest, dating to 1929 and recording a trip the couple made from Cherbourg to the New York. In this manifest, Eileen identified her “race or people” as “English,” while her husband David identified as “Scotch.”[1]
